Hello all, my name is Aaron Dimmitt and I am sure some of you are interested in who we are here at www.FortCollinsMovies.com and what we do. I am a native of Loveland, Colorado where I have lived most of my life up until I started college at Colorado State University in 1996. When I started out I moved into the dorms and then into the apartments and houses surrounding the campus in Fort Collins. I started my CSU “career”, as I like to put it, in Technical Journalism, but then changed to Electrical Engineering and finally Manufacturing Technology & Construction Management before taking time off and getting a job with a friend at the time at a small local Web development company. Until then using computers and the small amount of coding I had done were for my personal enjoyment. I had previously considered pursuing Computer Science as my college degree, but was under the impression that my talkative and outgoing nature would be stifled through a job where I would be on the computer the majority of the time. My job taught me that this was not the case and after working there for over a year and a half and after the dot-com bust of late 2001 I went back to school for Computer Science and finally graduated in 2006. Starting in early 2000 my brother and I started a small web development and hosting company, Allsis, where we try to help local small businesses and individuals that would like to have a presence on the web.

After going back to school, I was able to meet one of my best friends, Jason Noel, who later moved into a house with me and several other great friends of mine. During all of this time I have been an avid movie watcher and became a loyal fan of the www.FortCollinsMovies.com site since early 1998 when it was first released. Then in May 2004 a notification was placed on the site that site was going down, due to a lack of time from the previous owner to be able to maintain it. I approached Jason to see if he would be interested in purchasing the site from the previous owner and then improving the site with more features and abilities. He is now in charge of the graphics and advertising part of the site and I am in part of the content and functionality. This has been a long labor of love while I was in college and working other jobs and while Jason was growing his business, we recreated the site to what you see today with a great help from our loyal users and their suggestions.

Currently, I am employed at the University Of Colorado At Denver & Health Sciences Center IT services division in the database and Web application team. I have also recently got married on the 6th of October, 2007 to my college sweetheart, Laura. She also helps us by using one of her degrees from CSU, Technical Journalism, to help in the editing of our site. She LOVES the red pen.

I am a Wisconsin native who grew up in Fort Collins for most of my life. After graduating from Fort Collins High School, which seems like a long time ago, I went back to Wisconsin to pursue a degree in Computer Science. While I was there, I was able to purchase and enjoy my grandparent's season tickets to the Packers games. Yes, I admit I am a huge cheese head fan. My loyalties have not changed, even though the Packers lost to the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Anyway, after my return to Wisconsin, I decided to move back to Colorado because of the environment and the MILD WINTERS!!!! I laugh every time I hear someone complain about the Colorado winters. I attended CSU for a time, before realizing that I wanted a more active life than what a cubicle could provide and realizing that I could not ignore my passion for photography. Thus, I left CSU and went to pursue a career in photography and attended Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula Montana, where I received my Professional Photographer's Certificate and then I moved, yet again, back to Fort Collins to start my photography business, PhotoDreams Photography.

When I returned to Fort Collins, Aaron and I contacted the owner of fortcollinsmovies.com to see if we could help in the updating of the site to keep it online and current. We purchased the site from the previous owner and recreated the site into what you see today. Due to our Computer Science backgrounds and my artistic creativity, we decided to redesign the fortcollinsmovies.com site.

Aaron and I wanted the site to be more than just a list of theatres and to be more interactive with the local community. The Dinner and a Movie section was created to promote local dining vendors and their specialty. We want the site to be community and local business oriented.
